• Use Track Bus or trip tracking in the mobile app (location data, if you grant permission)

The information we collect may include your name, email address, phone number, payment information, travel preferences, device information, precise location, approximate location, and other details necessary to process your bookings and operate the Bygbus mobile app.

2. Location data (mobile app)

The Bygbus Android and iOS apps access LOCATION data, including both precise location (GPS) and approximate location. Location is optional. You can book tickets without granting location permission. You can deny or revoke access at any time in your device settings.

We use location only for these purposes:

• Track Bus map (while using the app): to show where you are relative to the live bus and your boarding point so you can reach pickup on time.
• Active trip tracking (background location): if you have a booked trip that is about to board and you have granted “Allow all the time,” we may continue to access location while the app is in the background. On Android this runs as a location foreground service with a persistent notification titled “Bygbus trip tracking.” Tracking stops when the trip ends. We do not use background location for advertising or analytics.
• Trip and service notifications: with your permission, approximate location or coordinates may be sent to Bygbus servers with your device push token so we can send relevant trip updates. We do not sell location data.

Location data is not shared with bus operators, advertisers, or other third parties for their own use. Map display may be processed on-device by the Google Maps SDK. You control this permission in Android Settings → Apps → Bygbus → Permissions → Location, or the equivalent iOS Settings screen.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process and manage your bus ticket bookings
• Show your location on the Track Bus map and during an active trip, if you grant location permission
• Send booking confirmations and travel updates
• Process payments and prevent fraud
• Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
• Send promotional offers and updates (with your consent)
• Improve our services and user experience
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

• Bus Operators: To complete your bookings and provide travel services
• Payment Processors: To process your payments securely
• Service Providers: Who assist us in operating our platform (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics)
• Legal Authorities: When required by law or to protect our rights

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
